When one door closes, another opens

As a performer and artist, you have to deal with more than your average share of rejections in life. Over the years, I have discovered what gets me through this and helps me to persevere. It is reminding myself how fortunate I am to be doing what I love and remaining true to myself.

My passion has always been to perform on stage, as I love the interaction with an audience, entertaining them with my art, getting them to laugh and maybe for a little while forget everything else; but for a long time I never got the parts I hoped for.

The important thing is to always stay true to yourself, to follow your passion and dreams, to surround yourself with people who lift you up, who see your potential, and support you in looking for and finding those open doors, meant just for you

Jessica Galetti – an artist, a performer

Not getting the bigger parts, left me with extra time though, to work on choreographies for example. Through this, I discovered how much I enjoyed helping others learn dance routines, creating my own choreographies, and all of a sudden, I was not only teaching musical theater and dance but producing my own shows and loving it.

Sometimes you might think when things don’t work out the way you planned and hoped that the whole world is against you. while the universe is actually showing you the way, by closing one door so that you go looking for other, open doors.

The important thing is to always stay true to yourself, to follow your passion and dreams, to surround yourself with people who lift you up, who see your potential, and support you in looking for and finding those open doors, meant just for you.

Listen, observe, and learn from every experience and opportunity that comes your way.
